Have you ever started a card thinking how great it was going to look and, after some initial stamping, stopped and said, "What was I thinking?". Well, that's how this card for the Runway Inspired challenge began. Thought I was on the right track and somehow got derailed. I blame it on the many interruptions of my process. (It couldn't be me...right?)
So, I'm posting it and entering it into the challenge, anyway. We can't all be perfect, especially me.

My twofer is a card I always struggle with...Sympathy. Anytime I have to make one, it tears me up. To me, they all should be simple expressions of empathy. Unfortunately, the situation is never simple but this is what I came up with:
The threefer is because I was playing with several newish embossing powders and a NBUS stamp set from Hero Arts. I purchased the set because I'd seen a couple other bloggers use it so successfully. Let me tell you folks, this one is going to be one of my favorites. Easy to use and the outcome is dramatic.
That's is for now. Ciao, to all of you and particularly the one's who leave me lovely comments.
You know I have a folder with just your stuff in it, right?? LOVE seeing your posts! 😍
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab trio, Coni! Soft colours with bold black ... a great take on that RIC dress, especially with the red ribbon sentiment! Lovely words for your sympathy card ... they say it all! Stunning, shimmery bird on the branch ... sooo striking and bold! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteLove your cards Conil!!

Stopping in from Live Love Cards. Beautiful card. It makes me think I should get that set, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the birdie!
Fabulous cards, specially the one with the sparkly bird, so very lovely.
ReplyDeleteI came here from LiveLoveCards, thank you for sharing and participating.
Hugs.
Maria Rodriguez.
Love how you used embossing powders for the bird!!
ReplyDeleteEeek! Your Hero Arts bird is spectacular!! I really wish I had purchased this stamp set when I had the chance and I really must invest in some different types of embossing powders too. I'm speechless this is so good! I think your card for the RIC challenge couldn't be any more perfect, such cool shapes. I'm the same with sympathy cards, I spend most of my time crying instead of creating. This is so lovely and a beautiful, simple scene. Sorry I'm so behind with my commenting, still trying to play catch up!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, Coni! Love your take on Runway Inspired Challenge. Thanks for playing along :)
ReplyDeleteSee there?! Shows what we know about our own talent sometimes!! It's a pretty darn special card that wins at RIC!! Congratulations, Conil!! Hugs, Darnell
