Birds and Mom

Hi there. Have some challenge cards to share today.
Was struck by the adorable blue-ish bird Kim Heggins had on her card (shown below) at the Muse Challenge so decided to put a trio of them on my CASE of it. Stamplorations came to the rescue with a darling stamp. Tombow markers made the birds & branch come alive with layered color. Diecut that panel and 3 additional with a rectangle die & applied the colored panel to an embossed acetate card. Then stacked the other three strategically onto the card so none of the glue would show.
Onto my entry for the CASology cue of "Parent".
Wracked my brain for something clever to do but nothing came to mind. However, Less Is More wants us to "bring something back" you haven't used for a while. Instantly, I thought of twine...I have tons of twine I haven't used in forever (hopefully, I'm not the only one). After I thought of that, this card made itself. Simon Says dies for the heart and the postage edged rectangle. Some very old twine in 3 colors wrapped around the panel. Additional twine stitched around the heart. Cut "Mom" with Altenew alpha dies 4 times; once each in orange, turquoise, green and white, then stacked slightly offset to show the colors. Embossed the sub-sentiment with white on black cardstock for contrast. Done.

That's all for now. Have a wonderful weekend.

  3. What gorgeous shades you've achieved in those birds, a wonderful interpretation of Kim's card. And what a great way to use twine, so effective with the layered up die and stitched detailing.
Thanks so much for playing along at Muse and Less is More, Anita x

  4. Two lovely cards. The CASE of Kim's card is stunning. Especially sweet for me to see, as I was with Kim when she made her Muse inspiration card, and she used my stamps. And, what a fantastic way to bring back twine into your crafting. Love how you wrapped and stitched with it. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.
