Mermaiding and Saying Hello

Catching up on some of the current challenges in the blogosphere.
Muse Card Club and Ellen Hutson's Classroom color challenge seemed to dove-tail (no pun intended, hehe) into this card so I just went with it. The talented Tracey McNeely has a fun, happy card to CASE (shown below) and I wanted to do her proud.
The sparkly mermaid tail is Ellen's, of course, but she dropped her shell phones. Appropriately watercolored the background adding some shimmery spatters, stencilled rays and a stamped sentiment. Diecut the glittery embossed and watercolored mermaid tail. The cardbase was dry embossed with a Lawn Fawn die then diecut with a circle. Mounted the background inside the card and the tail strategically on the card front. Off she goes on her adventure.
The Flower Challenge asked for a Monochromatic look and I decided to oblige with this older, but still gorgeous, Mama Elephant stamp. Used a Zig marker to watercolor the stamp, then painstakingly diecut it including the interior bits around the flowers. On a woodgrain textured cardbase, drew some wonky lines with the same marker. Spray dyed a length of tulle, deep blue. Attached it in the center of the cardbase. Topped it off with the stamped piece and added an embossed "friend" strip to the middle.

Have a wonderful weekend. Warning: I may be back soon.
