My favorite flower is daffodils. First, they're yellow...that, in itself, make them aces in my book. Then their structure is almost graphic, plus they resemble musical instrument, i.e., trumpet, trombone...you know, all the brass. Reminds me of the band, Earth, Wind and Fire, who I dearly love. (Guess I'm a brassy kind of girl, as my Mom would say.) I have lots of reasons that I love them. I even carried them in my wedding bouquet centuries ago. Anyway, The Flower Challenge wanted my favorite flower, so, this time I made a daffodil patch (thanks Michele of I Card Everyone for giving me a title for this post). Used a new-to-me Kitchen Sink stamp set and an incredible sentiment from The Stamp Market. Note the garden toad checking out his dragonfly lunch.

OH a TOAD!!! I toad-ily missed him on IG!!! I better start wearing my readers while perusing around IG - I miss a lot!! Thanks for the shoutout, my friend - been looking for someone to appreciate my words for years!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore this beautiful daffy-dill patch - which is what I've always called these darling [nearly favorite] blooms! xx

Always a pleasure to share your skills as a wordsmith. Thanks for noticing my critter...I'll keep him here, away from your house.
DeleteA host of golden daffodils, Coni ... how glorious ... Wordsworth would be proud! Gorgeous yellows (of course) ... and a cute, fun touch with the toad and libellule! Many years ago, I lived near here (https://i.pinimg.com/736x/b8/0b/c4/b80bc4e52ea24468013f33d6a214c740--lake-district-vintage-style.jpg) ... check it out, you'll love the view! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThat sneaky toad, didn't even see him till I read your post!! This card is 100% you and the daffodils are absolutely stunning! Your flowers look like they were painted and the sentiment suits it perfectly. I look at my 'Coni Iris' every day as I know it won't be long till its flowering and smiling at me. So excited you shared this with us at The Flower Challenge!! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love daffodils, too - especially since the pesky deer usually shuns them and they are one of the very few flower species that thrives in my garden. The frog toadally makes that card!
