Owlishly Tall

"Tall" is the keyword for CASology this fortnight and, being a Northern California girl, I immediately thought of our Giant Sequoias. Since I was blessed with the perfect stamp set sent to me by a blogpal (thank you Cornelia) that's what I used. Had to elongate the tree to fill the space but that was easy to do. Colored with water based markers and Nuvo Glazed the baby owl. Done.

Snarky Birthday

Last Less is More challenge was extremely "less" and this time it's "more" so I made this birthday card with a hand drawn frame. Hero Arts provided the stamp set with some minor help from Wplus9. Added coloring of the images with Arteza Twimarkers and some strategically placed Nuvo Glaze.  Then some white gel marker highlights and it is done.

Fruity Smiles

I'm playing with Twofer's Fruit challenge today with these cards.
Discovered while trying to kickstart my mojo that I haven't got a many options in the fruit area. Thankfully, Simon Says helped with the only set I could find. The birthday card came first believe it or not.
Used the watermelon to create the mouth then hand drew and colored the tongue and teeth. Diecut the big speech bubble from Essentials by Ellen and built a custom sentiment from Hero Arts and Katzelkraft. Popped up that panel above the mouth.
Same fruit set in a totally different vein...the watermelon is prominent (can you guess why?). Once I masked and stamped the fruit, shaded in the border then stamped another custom sentiment from Catherine Pooler and Altenew. In addition, used an Altenew dieset to create a frame around the focal point. Dotted black gel pen for the seeds on the watermelon's and brown glittery marker for the strawberry's.
Linking the birthday card to Time Out's challenge, as well.

Joy to the World

Yes, it's Christmas, already....KIDDING! But wanted to play with CAS Christmas Card Challenge. Pulled out my Concord & 9th stamp/die combo and masked the "O" before stamping it in red repeatedly plus the sub-sentiment in dark grey. Then using a Hero Arts set, watercolored the globe and popped it up to replace the missing "O".  Added Spectrum Noir shimmer pen over the 'JOY". Done!

Sending a Hello

Day of the Month Card Club's challenge is  "Send a Card to a Friend Day" this month, so that's what I did when I finished the card and envelope shown above. All products are from Altenew. First I stenciled both an A2 panel and an envelope in various colors. Then, diagonally diecut the lace trim from the bottom of the panel and also out of white cardstock, as well as, the "hello' sentiment and set them all aside. Using a top folding card, I darkly inkblended the same ink colors on the bottom. Once dry, I heat embossed the subsentiment, attached the stenciled panel with foam tape, then the white lacy border and the "hello" diecut sentiment directly over the inkblended area of  the cardbase.

Great Things

Addicted to CAS is looking for OMBRE this time so I grabbed my Altenew inks and brushed bright, encouraging shades of orange over the cardbase. Then using a new Funky Fossil stencil over the ombre in the same shades of orange. Partial diecut an Altenew die and covered the cardbase with it. Stamped the large CZ Design for Simon Says sentiment and called this done.

Birthday Pig

AAA Birthday is look for "Cute" and, personally, I think the Hello Bluebird pigs are cute. To make him extra special, he's heading for that huge piece of Hero Arts layer cake...yum! The color mediums include both ink and colored pencil. A bit of shimmer (which you can't see) in the background and on the candle flame. Finished off with some glossiness on the cake decorations and candle wax. And of course, the Hero Arts sentiment.
